Dear Greyt Folks,

Hope all is well while the summer is winding down. If you haven't been to the website recently, we've had quite few new greyhound come to us and have had a good adoption rate for summer.

Some new foster homes have popped up which is always good. There are never enough foster homes though. These giving folks are vital to our dogs' success in their adoptive homes. Bless you all. Speaking of fosters, we have 2 doggies that have been with us quite a while now. Let's see if we can get Farrah and Hobo adopted. Both very home savvy and anxious to find their new homes.....

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

TRANSPORT NEED:

Barb needs transport for Pablo and Joice from the kennel to Ina Road Animal
Hospital on Tuesday, 8/26 and back again. They are both having surgeries
and Joice would do better in a home to recover overnight. Drop off around
7:30; pick up at the driver's convenience. If you can help, please contact Barb at barbaragadola@comcast.net

PETSMART AT SWAN AND GRANT

Since no other greyhound rescue has been showing up, the manager at this store has asked if we could table all 4 weekends there. We currently do the 2nd and 4th Sunday. We would need to have some volunteers for this. Maybe, we could even do a Saturday, instead of Sunday. It would be best if you had your own hound if you choose to volunteer for this. We are still trying to get fosters to this location regularly. We still wanting to get more central city fosters. IF you are interested, please contact John CLark at jfclark@comcast.net

NO MORE HOMELESS ANIMALS DAY -Concert flier attached

Dear friends and animal advocates,

I'm helping coordinate an event here in Tucson to celebrate No More Homeless Animals Day. Join us for this FREE, family-oriented, outdoor concert featuring the following terrific local acts: Courtney Robbins, Michael Serpe, Jeremy Michael Cashman, and The Hounds.

When: Saturday, August 30th from 5:00pm until 10:00pm. Music starts at 6:00!
Where: Udall Park Amphitheater (7290 E Tanque Verde Rd.)
Bands: Courtney Robbins, Michael Serpe, Jeremy Michael Cashman, and The Hounds
Cost: FREE!

There will be opportunities to learn about volunteering with rescue groups, animal foster/adoption programs, spaying/neutering, and other steps you can take to save lives. Food will be available for purchase from the Lovin' Spoonfuls vegetarian hot dog cart.

This event is all-ages, so bring your family, and your companion animals! For those who do bring their furry friends, pet blessings will be available.
