VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

DOG WASH

We still could use about 3 folks to help with set-up Sat, August 9th at 7:15 at the Veterinary Speciality Center of Tucson. Please contact Cristen Olds at CristenAGR@gmail.com if you can help. If you are not working, we hope to see you there getting your dogs all cleaned up.

DAYS OF CARING

This annual event sponsored by the UNITED WAY will be occurring again at our kennel, on Sat, Sept 27th in the morning (probably a doggie spa day for the kennel hounds). We would like a couple of volunteers, familiar with the kennel to oversee the event as the person chairing, Carol Ray, will be out of town that day. Please contact Carol Ray at clray21@cox.net if you can help.

AT THE KENNEL

Thanks to Cindy Hall for photographing the new kennel hounds in Tej's absence. The photos look great. And many thanks to Barb Gadola, Liz Troudt, her right hand assistant and her crew of turn-out volunteer who keep the kennel running smoothly and take such good care of our dogs while they are waiting to get into foster or their forever homes.

REUNION

Lots of exciting things on taking shape for the reunion on October 25th at Reid Park. Terry Quinn, who has been hosting this show for some time is retiring. We want to thank her and the city of Tucson for putting us in the rotation to appear on Pet Connection for several years now. The show will still go on with a new host.

Terry wrote me the nicest note and it applies to every volunteer.... It's been a pleasure to get to know the hounds and the wonderful assortment of people who lovingly follow. Every time I see these dogs I am struck by the  graceful and gentle nature that seems to surround them. I thank God that we have people like you, Dale and Jim, who give so much to guide these beautiful creatures to good homes. ....
