FOSTER NEEDS
Many thanks to Dale Peters and Jim Hoy for springing the old gent from Pinal Animal Control on Friday. At 9 1/2 years young, he seems to be in pretty good shape . His greying muzzle makes him a distinguished brindle guy. Word is he is very sweet, gentle and mellow, rides and walks nicely. We have a little bit of his story.... the owners in Pinal County relinquished him because they had too many dogs. We're not sure if the number was 9 or 29. He is probably well-socialized to dogs, but we do not know about his cat status. He never raced, but his siblings had a few races at Apache Jcn. His race name was My Tye, but we have renamed him Bourbon. As he is not neutered, we surmise that probably an owner or trainer just gave him away to his adopters many years ago. He was still wearing an old plastic track collar when he came to us.
WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE BOURBON GET INTO FOSTER ASAP!
We now have 27 dogs in our care, 15 at the kennel , so we really need to some more to foster. Hobo and Percy have both been with us since the beginning of the year, so it is time for them to be sprung. Hobo is a young guy, not quite 2, so has some puppy energy. He tested fine with cats.
Percy is nearly 4, not cat tolerant, but has been okay with small dogs.
Lennon, who just came to us at the beginning of the month and also just turned 4, has some serious eye problems that we need to watch, so home care would be great for him. He was recently neutered. We do not know his small animal status.
JOhnny B has his respite foster set. THanks GLenda.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL
YEA, Angy for putting together a fun event. A nice evening was had by 35 adopters and 38 dogs, including newly adopted Jaclyn(Raven) and Garrett. Great snacks were enjoyed by human and hound alike. There were neat raffle prizes, too. Many thanks also to Bill Carnegie, Joe Romack, Alice Jordan and Janet Vaupel for assisting Angy with the event. We truly appreciate Michelle and Brian Caillet for opening Greyt Escape for this nice evening.
DIRTY DAWGS
While we didn't have a turnout, we got acquainted with the facility and owner Rebecca Wyant. It is a great, spacious self-service place to go wash your dog for a mere $15. No more back breaking bending over in the yard to wash your pups. Everything is provided to wash and dry your dog. She carries all natural products. She also carries many natural treats, toys and a whole lot more. Joining Buddy and me were Loren Dawn and Saffron and Julia Summers and Wes, Ginny and Prince. Buddy has had a real spring in his step since trying some kangaroo jerky.
WEED CONTROL AT THE KENNEL
It's FIRE SEASON and we need to clean up some brush by the kennel to keep our little darlings safe. Clean Up Day will be Saturday, May 3 starting at 8am. Remember to wear long pants, tennis shoes and bring gloves to keep yourself protected. Feel free to bring your favorite yard implements to attack the brush. We will provide water and coffee. Thanks for all you do to support our wonderful hounds.
Angy asks if anyone has an industrial type weed wacker, to please bring it.
Please drop ANGY an email if you can attend, italianangy@hotmail.com.
Many thanks to all your GREYT FOLKS
